5 tips to keep your brain well

It only takes a little work and mindfulness to keep your mind as healthy as possible.

Laugh
Make time each day to enjoy something you really like to do. Be silly and laugh: bliss can recharge you. It’s a lot easier to feel happy if your body feels great.

Eat Well
Enjoy a fantastic breakfast. Be good to your body.

Rest
Sleep restores both your body and mind. Aim for 7 hours of sleep at least. Go to bed and get up at about the same time every day. 1 hour before bedtime turn off your phone and pc. Take the time to relax to wind down from your day when you get home. In case you have problems sleeping, just lay in bed for 1/2 hour then get up and go into a different room, or sit in a chair and read a book or watch TV (no computer or telephone as the blue light can keep you awake) then try to return to sleep.

Consider Today
Too often we’re considering the past or planning for the future rather than living in the present. Concentrate on living in the moment. Outside, notice sunlight or wind in your face, or feel your feet on the sidewalk.

Indoors, feel your body in the seat, or your toes on the ground. Make a genuine effort to know about the world around you now. It’s important for your mental health.

Drink Less Alcohol.
That also applies to all of the other drugs people use for recreation. Occasionally people misuse alcohol and other drugs to feel better; however, alcohol and other drugs can make problems worse.
